Salutorget market square is located at the South Harbour at one end of the Esplanade Park. The booths sell traditional market foods and treats, as well as handicrafts and souvenirs. There are also heated café tents where you can comfortably have a steaming hot coffee even on the coldest days in winter. Salutorget means “market square” in Swedish.
The Salutorget bag starts with Judy’s Magic Cast On and is then worked in the round. The bottom of the bag is worked in Stockinette stitch to prevent small items from falling out. The main part is knitted in an easy-to-memorize netted lace stitch. The top of the bag is folded double for durability. I used leather straps for my bag but the pattern includes instructions for knitted handles.
