Knitting Patterns of the Shetlands
Knitting Patterns of the Shetlands
Out Of Stock
This book is a treasure trove of traditional Fair Isle knitting patterns, inspired by materials and works from the Shetland Museum collection. It features designs from knitters in the 1930s and hats from the 19th century.
Containing over 240 samples with variations on the original patterns, this collection offers a wealth of inspiration. You can either use the patterns and colour schemes as they are or customize them to suit your own taste. Whether you're knitting small items like hats and gloves or larger projects like sweaters, this pattern book is perfect.
All patterns adhere to the Shetland tradition of one stitch, two colours, making them easier to knit than they appear. The clear and large diagrams make the patterns easy to follow, even though the book is written in Japanese.
I have enjoyed the book, plenty of designs and colour ideas. Wish there was more English translation.
